About this service
Designing a web application is different from designing a marketing website. The user is not choosing whether to engage with your product. They have already signed up. They are trying to get work done. The design job is to make sure that the interface helps them do that rather than obstructing them.
The most common failure mode in application design is a product that was built feature by feature without ever thinking about how the features work together. The result is a dashboard that is technically complete but confusing to navigate. Users open it, feel lost, and look for a workaround or an alternative.
What we focus on in app design
We start with information architecture before touching visual design. Where does the user start? What is the most important action on each screen? When something goes wrong, what does the user see? These questions determine the structure of the interface, and getting the structure right before adding visual design is what separates good application design from the alternative.
Component systems in apps
Web applications have too many screens to design each one from scratch. The solution is a component-based system where a defined set of elements - tables, cards, buttons, modals, form fields, notifications - are designed once and used consistently across the entire product. We design that system as part of every Web App Design project, which means the handoff includes not just the screens we designed but the building blocks for every screen you add later.
